Mission, Philosophy and Objectives
The mission of the ARC Broward Culinary Institute is to stimulate learning, growth and transformation. Specifically, the mission is to instruct students who are committed to a career in culinary arts, and to help them achieve their potential through small class sizes and individualized instruction from a professional faculty and staff. Students acquire the foundational knowledge and skills of cooking and baking, sensory awareness and teamwork needed to work with competence and professionalism in a commercial kitchen or in a related culinary field.
The ARC Broward Culinary Institute offers a unique benefit of serving multiple missions:
- Empowering individuals through training and experience.
- Generating revenue through social enterprise.
- Creating and utilizing efficient meal production to train, employ and feed disadvantaged populations.
- Building community through service and collaboration.
When combined with our mission based enterprise activities, food service-based training and employment lead to positive and sustainable outcomes for students and the greater community. Job readiness and training activities that provide solid benefits, such as meals for disadvantaged populations including low income children and adults with disabilities, have greater purpose and allow individuals to learn from real-life settings, while building skills, confidence and self worth.
